Bizet's brilliant Carmen, performed in French on 7–8 June 2007, was Opera Gold's most ambitious production to date. It turned out to be the most successful, too.

Many of the cast members of Opera Gold's Carmen participated in Mean Time Opera's Carmen, in Greenwich, south-west London, from 12–15 September 2007. See the Mean Time Opera website for more details.

The principals included Mario Sofroniou (Don Jose, picture right); and Charlotte King (picture right) doubling with Kathrine Slav (Carmen).
